THREE DAY MASTER CLASS
I view this as more than just a class it is meant to be an experience. Bravo fx is teaming up with the Kult Event Space And Theater in Downtown Los Angeles to create "Horror At The Kult" a slate of film and horror-themed events intended to give back to the horror community, each day of the master class consists of a Lecture, demonstration and then hands-on interactive learning, participants will be given there own SPFX makeup kits meaning when they leave they will have the tools needed to go on and create epic looks, and even take gigs working in the industry. This high-impact crash course is meant to grant students the foundations needed to develop out-of-this-world stuff.

Day One casualty simulation fundamentals and zombies!
We'll hit the ground running on this Epic 3 day adventure, starting with a lecture on casualty simulation (gore) we will discuss the use of color, out-of-kit approaches, and prosthetic appliances, budget considerations, and picking your approach based on script and circumstance.
We then take a little time to discuss character makeup before moving on to the days fx demonstration.
I will execute a casualty makeup utilizing foam, silicone, out-of-kit methodologies, and pros-aid transfers, throughout the process we will progress our makeup from injury, to zombie and then creature by altering color palate and applying different appliances demonstrating a progressive make up mindsets we will then pause for interactive learning before returning to the demonstration for a slit throat using a 3 gallon fire extinguisher filled with fake blood for a dynamic end to day one
Day Two Lab work and fabrication! and life casting demo
Day 2 will agin start with lecture, we will discuss lab work, safety/etiquette, and fabracation and a discussion on process before going into the days first demo where you will aid me in executing a full head silicone life cast, we will then discuss alginate life casting before partnering up and doing your own cast *note if you want to participate you will want to be cleanly shaven as part of the process you will also learn execution of a bald cap
The second part of the day we will discuss corrective pours and create fake body parts (we will discuss different skins and mediums) that you will then paint and be able to take home. After which I'll show how the same methods can be used to make fake props.
we will wrap things up with review and free learning where you can ask me about any topic you want to spend some time on
Day Three We will create a foam-fabricated creature suit from design to execution
Day 3 we will do a lecture on creature suits in the industry understand the different materials used and go straight into an interactive demo where we will create a full foam suit, ill leave it up to you but we will make a demon or were wolf, or if there's enough students ill split you into two teams and we will tackle both.

we will discuss the limitations on foam fabrication and the trade-off of speed versus the longevity of the suit, we will pattern/ carve out our creature musculature and skin it in a spandex-like material which we will coat in slip-cast latex before painting we will then apply hair and design flourishes such as air bladders, led features,Methyl Cellulose (MOVIE SLIME!), things of that nature. movie slime
Will wrap the class up with a guest speaker to discuss practical special effects from the point of view of the actor. This is perhaps the most import thing I can offer it is so easy to forget there is a person on the other side of our makeup and keeping things respectful safe and as close to comfortable for them is so incredibly important, interacting and learning from the people experiencing what we create forces us to appreciate the hardships involved in these processes and the limitations required. Not every actor is cut out to do 5 hour makes, not everyone's skin can handle our chemicals, and it is so important that we take the time to learn about the human side of our art form
